At the end of last term there was an alarming accident at another Palmerston North Primary School, where a junior school child was hit by a car just outside the school gates. The child was seriously injured and spent a number of weeks up in Starship Hospital.

Apology for name error

I would like to apologise for a missprint in last weeks Wednesday News announcing the Interschool Triathlon results.

Congratulations to Tyler Donoghue who was placed 14th overall for the Year Five Boys. Well done!

PTA Support

I would like to encourage all parents to get behind the PTA in organising a fund- raising event to raise funds for our new school hall/auditorium. The new hall complex has such amazing potential in benefiting the children of College Street Normal, and we need all the help we can get to make this dream a reality.

Paid Union Meeting

Just a reminder about the paid union meeting on Monday 3rd May. The school will stay open for this and children will be supervised for the afternoon. If you are going to collect your child at 12:30pm please ensure that you have returned the note that went home on Monday to your child’s classroom teacher.

Safety Check - Help Wanted

We are in need of a parent helper to help out on the Safety Check desk on a Tuesday morning from 8.50am until around 9.30ish. Full training provided! Please phone the office on 358 1092 or call in if you are able to assist.

Parents/Caregivers please, make our job easier by remembering to phone in to advise that your child is away or late and ensure that you speak clearly and concisely (when leaving a message) by stating your child’s first and last name, their room number and the reason for being absent. If you have any changes of details (home, work, mobile phone numbers or changes of addresses) please let the office know as soon as possible. Your assistance helps us to ensure that we keep our children safe.
